Listed below are the department seminars, activities and meeting that occur consistently throughout the academic year.

Tea Time

Is an opportunity for socialization and interdisciplinary conversation between graduate students and faculty. It is held in the Dreiss Lobby (E&MS Building, 1st Floor, A-wing) on Mondays at 3:00 p.m. during Fall, Winter and Spring quarters. Light refreshments are provided by the department.

Whole Earth Seminar (WES)

The Whole Earth Seminar provides a venue to bring in spreakers on a broad spectrum of Earth and Planetary Sciences research topics. The seminars are at 3:30PM on Tuedays during Fall, Winter and Spring quarters. The venue changes quarterly, but is typically in either the Natural Science Annex 101 or the Thimann Lecture Hall 001. Refreshments are provided, just prior to the seminar, in the Dreiss Lobby.

IGPP/CODEP Seminar

The Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics/Center for the Origin, Dynamics and Evolution of Planets Seminar is held on Fridays at 12:00PM in the E&MS Building, room A340 during Fall, Winter and Spring quarters.

Graduate Research Seminar

Offers an opportunity for our graduate students to present their research. It is held on Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. during the spring quarter only, in various locations. Refreshments are provided, just prior to the seminar, in the Dreiss Lobby.

Faculty Meeting

The E&PS Faculty Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month in the E&MS Building, room A340 during Fall, Winter and Spring quarters.

Chips & Salsa

Is a social time for graduate students and faculty, which is held on Fridays at 5:00 p.m. in the Dreiss Lobby during Fall, Winter and Spring quarters.
