Subject: Call for Applications - Global Classrooms 2022-21

Dear Science Faculty,

The VPDUE has issued a second Call for Applications to both Senate and Unit 18 faculty to receive funding and training to develop Global Classrooms to be offered in AY 2022-23. The links below will direct you to more detailed information.

What are Global Classrooms?

Global Classrooms provide an innovative way for students to gain international experience through virtual technology. They are existing courses, revised by UCSC faculty and their faculty collaborator abroad to incorporate the course design approaches of Virtual Exchange (VE), also known as Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). These Global Classroom courses will increase UCSC students’ access to global learning by providing them with opportunities to engage and collaborate globally with students at international partner institutions, while also creating opportunities for faculty to strengthen ties with colleagues abroad, through joint teaching and course development, in support of future scholarly collaborations and potential graduate student recruitment.

 Call for Applications: See here
Applications are due Friday, May 21st, 2021 by 5 p.m.
