EMERGENCY UTILITY SHUT DOWN
LOCATION(S):
Central Heat Plant – affecting all of Science Hill COGEN powered buildings
UTILITY TO BE SHUT DOWN:
Gas Fired Turbine that provides COGEN power to buildings during electrical outages
Gas Fired Turbine that provides COGEN power to buildings during electrical outages
SCHEDULED DATE & TIME:
TODAY 6/1/21 through TBD
REASON:
Turbine failed – needs replacement
IMPACTS:
We anticipate this will be a lengthly shutdown due to the complex and extensive nature of the work.
Buildings that rely on COGEN power during unplanned electrical outages WILL NOT be powered by COGEN during this time—just standby/generator power will be available.
As soon as we get a more specific timeline from the Physical Plant, we will send an update.
