NHGRI Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Transition Award for a Diverse Genomics Workforce (F99/K00) – August 8

Funding for up to 5 years of support (predoc and postdoc stages) so awardees are better positioned to become independent genomics researchers.

NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA Individual Predoctoral Fellowship (F31) – August 8

Funding to enable promising predoctoral students to obtain individualized, mentored research training from outstanding faculty sponsors while conducting dissertation research in scientific health-related fields.

NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA Individual Postdoctoral Fellowship (Parent F32) – August 8

Funding to support research training of highly promising postdoctoral candidates who have the potential to become productive, independent investigators in scientific health-related research fields relevant to the missions of the participating NIH Institutes and Centers. Applications are expected to incorporate exceptional mentorship.

Funding to enhance the research training of promising doctoral candidates from diverse backgrounds to help them gain critical translational skills in data science and drug discovery for various aspects of AD/ADRD research.

NIA Postdoc Fellowship Award to Promote Diversity in Translational Research for AD/ADRD (F32) – August 8

Funding to enhance the research training of promising postdoctoral candidates from diverse backgrounds to help them gain critical translational skills in data science and drug discovery for various aspects of AD/ADRD research.

DoD Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Research Program (DMDRP): Idea Development Award – August 11

Proposal must focus on FY21 DMDRP Areas of Emphasis noted in the solicitation. $350K for 2 years.

DoD Scleroderma Research Program (SRP): Idea Development Award – August 11

Proposal must focus on FY21 SRP Areas of Emphasis noted in the solicitation. $300K for 3 years.

USDA Agriculture Innovation Center Grant Program – September 27

Provides between $400K and $1M over two years to provide technical assistance to agricultural producers to market

Probability – September 27

Supports research on the theory and applications of probability. Subfields include discrete probability, stochastic processes, limit theory, interacting particle systems, stochastic differential and partial differential equations, and Markov processes. Research in probability which involves applications to other areas of science and engineering is especially encouraged: PD 18-1263. 

Includes Conferences and Workshops in the Mathematical Sciences (8 month lead time required).

Industry-University Cooperative Research Centers Program (IUCRC) – Prelim. Proposal September 8

Seeks to connect industry partners and government agencies directly and efficiently with university researchers for primary objectives: 

1) Conduct high-impact research to meet shared and critical industrial needs in companies of all  sizes;
2) Enhance U.S. global leadership in driving innovative technology development, and
3) Identify, mentor and develop a diverse, highly skilled science and engineering workforce

Industry is defined very broadly to include companies (large and small), startups and non-profit organizations.
Planning Grants: $20K,Phase I: $150K/yr, Phase II: $100K/yr, Phase II+: $150K/yr, Phase III: $50K/yr.

NSF EHR Core Research (ECR:Core) – October 7

For fundamental research (curiosity-driven basic research and use-inspired basic research) that contributes to the general, explanatory knowledge that underlies STEM education in one or more of the three broadly conceived Research Areas: Research on STEM Learning and Learning Environments, Research on Broadening Participation in STEM fields, and Research on STEM Workforce Development. Within this framework, the ECR program supports a wide range of fundamental STEM education research activities, aimed at learners of all groups and ages in formal and informal settings.

Level I to $500K; Level II up to $1.5M; Level III up to $2.5M.
