Subject: Planned outage of Gitlab 9/8 8 am - 5 pm

Dear Faculty,

Please see this important message from Hart Hancock:

Greetings GitLab Users,

There is a planned outage of Gitlab on September 8th from 8 am – 5 pm PDT to apply the most recent security and feature patches. Gitlab will be updated to version 13.12.8 during this time and not be available. If you have concerns about the date and timing, please email githelp@ucsc.edu as soon as possible.

What you can do to prepare

      • Read about the changes and new features.
      • Review and see the new changes in the non-production instance of GitLab (There are some differences)
      • Test your custom scripts against the non-production upgraded version of Gitlab to identify issues early, so you have time to fix them before the production upgrade. The Gitlab team ran through the automated smoke testing Gitlab scripts.

Send questions and issues to githelp@ucsc.edu.

Collaboratively yours,
The Gitlab Team
