Dear department managers and unit administrators,
I’d like to announce a change in our divisional staff HR liaison role. We have recently divided the divisional staff HR liaison work across two positions. We’ve restructured the work in order to strengthen the unit while integrating cross training and backup solutions to ensure a timely and consistent approach to divisional staff HR related work (defined below).
Both Isabella Porporato and Tracy Tirrell will serve in the divisional staff HR liaison role, in addition to their academic personnel role. Each will have primary responsibility with different departments, but they will both monitor the email alias: PBSCI Divisional HR Liaisons
Many of you have worked with Isabella Poporato, who joined our division’s team in January 2020 after two and a half years of working in the operations (payroll) unit of Staff HR. Tracy Tirrell was hired into our Academic HR unit earlier this year, and comes to us with over 7 years of HR experience in a variety of industries. Isabella has done a great job training and orientating Tracy to the role over the past several months.
The primary role of the divisional staff HR liaison is to help coordinate documentation and approvals between a hiring unit, the division, and Staff HR units for staff positions. They can also help answer process questions about changes in appointments (increase or decrease in time, or extensions of limited appointments) and the classification review process for staff positions.
For items that do not require divisional approval, please continue to work with UCSC campus staff HR directly on other staff HR related questions or concerns.
