Coastal Biology Building (CBB), Headhouse & Greenhouse Buildings, CSC Core Building and CSC Auxiliary Building |
UTILITIES AFFECTED:
Building Ventilation System – including Fume Hoods and Building Steam will be affected.* RO Water & Vacuum system will also be affected.
*NOTE: Use of any Steam dependent equipment while building ventilation systems are down may set off the building fire alarm system—causing a building wide evacuation. |

6:00 AM to 11:00 AM |
IMPACTS:
During this time, there will be no HVAC or ventilation available in the building***, please refrain from using, and keep fume hoods closed during the shutdown. All building autoclaves, dishwashers and other steam heated equipment should not be used during the shutdown.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE STEAM DEPENDENT EQUIPMENT AS IT MAY SET OFF THE BUILDING FIRE ALARMS
***Building ventilation will be disrupted/not operational. Only critical research maintenance operations should be conducted. Consult with EH&S (ehs@ucsc.edu, 459-2553) to assess and assist any extended activities. All other building personnel should avoid entering the building during the shutdown. |
REASON:
Preventative maintenance, repair and air filter replacement. |
DETAILS:
Please remember to close your fume hood sashes the evening prior to this shutdown, and refrain from working with any hazardous materials in the building during the shutdown period. Fume Hoods will go into alarm if opened during shutdown. |
