Planned Maintenance of the Fire Hydrants throughout campus

DETAILS:
The UCSC Physical Plant is conducting their regular scheduled maintenance of the fire hydrants throughout campus. Crews will be conducting hydrant flushing on Science Hill and and along North campus fire roads. This flushing requires a high flow of water for one minute at each hydrant.
IMPACTS:
There may be short delays for pedestrians and vehicles along roadways during individual fire hydrant flushing cycles.
*As a result of hydrant flushing, temporary discoloration of the water can occur inside local buildings. This is caused by minerals dissolved in the water, and is not harmful.
