SCHEDULED TIME:
7:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day
REASON:
State Mandated Planned Maintenance and Testing.
DETAILS:
Physical Plant technicians and the elevator door smoke curtain service vendor will be in buildings performing annual preventive maintenance on the roll down fire door and fire alarm systems.
This is State mandated testing that will involve simulating a smoke detector trip which will send the smoke curtains into their closed positions. The elevator door smoke curtains are located inside the elevator shaft and when deployed, they create a barrier between the elevator and the building floors.
Specific times for the testing of individual elevators cannot be given. The schedule needs to remain flexible in case repairs are necessary.
*Not all elevator doors have this specific type of smoke barrier. Other barrier types will be tested at another time and a separate notification will be sent.
IMPACTS:
Individual elevators will be out of service for approximately a ½ hour during testing. Please use alternate elevators.
