Opportunity: Societal Considerations for Neurobiology and Changing Ecosystems Research

Overview
The Kavli Foundation is seeking to identify, explore, and/or understand key societal perspectives related to Neurobiology and Changing Ecosystems that can influence the development of the research agenda or identify areas that require further study. This emerging scientific area examines neural adaptation and resilience within a societally relevant context. Current work aims to understand how nervous systems respond to human-generated environmental disruptions, such as chemical and sensory pollution, habitat depletion, and changing climates. Research can take the form of new scholarship (e.g., science and technology studies, philosophy, or other disciplines), or other activities by scientists, scholars, or practitioners. . T
The successful grantee(s)’s product, scholarly or otherwise, will be shared and utilized by researchers or practitioners in the field, The Kavli Foundation, and other future stakeholders. Ideally, this project will influence the direction of the emerging field of neurobiology and changing ecosystems.

Up to $150,000 for up to two years

Eligibility
Applicants for funding must be at a US or international institution of higher education, or non-profit research organization, or affiliated with such an entity.
