Overview
The AI Safety Fund (AISF) awards grants to accelerate research efforts that identify potential safety threats that arise from the development and use of frontier AI models. AISF is looking to develop strategies to avoid negative outcomes through funding research to identify and assess risks and improve the safe deployment of AI for the benefit of society. The focus is on two critical areas of research: Biosecurity and Cybersecurity.

Award Amount & Terms
The AISF plans to fund research projects by academic labs, non-profits, independent researchers, and for-profit mission-driven entities across both Biosecurity and Cybersecurity topics in the range of $350-$600K.

Specific qualifications vary for the Biosecurity and Cybersecurity opportunities; applicants should carefully review qualification and eligibility requirements in the respective RFPs to ensure review of their application.
