Overview
The United States-Japan Foundation is committed to promoting stronger ties between Americans and Japanese by supporting projects that foster mutual knowledge and education, deepen understanding, create effective channels of communication, and address common concerns in an increasingly interdependent world.
The Foundation offers grants in the areas of pre-college education, communication / public opinion, US-Japan policy studies and operates the United States-Japan Leadership Program. More details on these programs are available on their website.
Award Amount & Terms
- Recent grants amounts have ranged between $25,000 – $90,000
- The Foundation limits overhead expenses to 10% of the total project budget

The FR team creates and maintains mutually beneficial, long-term relationships with private organizations, matching grant initiatives with educational and research programs and centers.
