UTILITY SHUT DOWN
STANDBY POWER/GENERATOR &
PROCESS COOLING WATER
LOCATION(S):
Physical Sciences Building
UTILITY TO BE SHUT DOWN:
— Standby Electricity. Includes all standby circuits/panels throughout the building, this includes temperature controlled rooms. Maximum shutdown duration is 4 hours.
— Process cooling water will also be offline to tie the PCW system into the new generator power source
SCHEDULED DATE & TIME:
Thursday December 16th, 2021
6:30 AM – 10:30 AM
REASON:
Moving process cooling water to standby power circuit
IMPACTS & DETAILS:
— During this shutdown – all equipment plugged into the YELLOW standby power outlets will not be supported by generator power and will be offline with NO POWER source.
— Process cooling Water will also be interrupted as the system is tied into the new generator power source.
— Cold Rooms in PSB are all powered by Standby Power — this means the temperature controlled rooms will be offline during this work. Please move any items that may be sensitive to temperature fluctuations.
— Dry Ice will be available on the PSB dock starting on 12/15/21 for use to pack freezers etc.
***4 hours is the maximum duration we anticipate the work to take. This shutdown may be shorter in duration, in which case we will notify the building when all standby power is back online.
