UTILITIES THAT WILL BE SHUT DOWN:
Natural Sciences 2 Main Building and Natural Sciences 2 Annex (CAANs 7179 & 7180)
Entire Building Shutdown – no access allowed
Ventilation
Heating Hot Water
Chilled Water
Industrial Cold Water
Industrial Hot Water
Process Cooling Water
Interdisciplinary Sciences Building (ISB) (CAAN 7098)
Heating Hot Water
Chilled Water
Process Water
Center for Adaptive Optics (CfAO) (CAAN 7693)
Heating Hot Water
SCHEDULED DATES: 8/26 – 9/18 with building being vacant 8/29 – 9/9
SCHEDULED TIMES:
START: 8/26 – Contractors dropping off Portable A/C units
8/27 – Contractor to begin installation of containment
8/28 – 9:00 am HVAC and Plumbing Shops to shut and drain down chilled water, industrial cold and hot water
8/29 – Ventilation shutoff
8/29 – 9/9 – 6:00 am building vacant – demo to begin – no access to building
9/10 – Clearance okay – building to be reopened
9/10 – HVAC and Plumbing Shops to re-energize systems
9/10 – 9/18 – Possible piping repairs – utilities may need to be shutdown, but the building can remain open.
REASON: Hazmat clean up of the mechanical interstitial space.
IMPACTS: For Natural Sciences 2 Main Building and Natural Sciences 2 Annex, both buildings to be closed, no access allowed unless coordinated with and through EH&S and Project Manager.
