BIOMED – WORK ADVISORY
LOCATION:
Biomedical Sciences Building
AREA TO BE AFFECTED:
Vivarium Watering System to be replaced – Work will be in the common hallway areas of the Vivarium.
* Process, Industrial and Domestic Hot Water tanks to be replaced. Work will also take place in the mechanical room.
A forklift will be utilized at the Loading Dock — another Advisory will be provided for that specific date. Hot water to the building will be interrupted, specific dates and durations will follow.
SCHEDULED DATES AND TIMES:
3/14/22 – 4/1/22 (3 week duration)
REASON:
Vivarium Watering Systems has had leaks in the past and is currently installed above the hard lid ceiling. The new system will be ceiling mounted and easier to maintain. We will be replacing all 3 tanks
IMPACTS:
– Hot water will be briefly impacted at some point during this work, we will notify occupants when we know that timeframe
– The BioMed Dock will be slightly impacted with loading and unloading. Workers, noise & dust should be expected during this work as well.
*Dock will be accessible for deliveries during this work. With the exception of a brief window where a forklift will be used to remove the old tanks and install the new water tanks
