International Summer Research Program (ISRP) – Project Proposals Due October 31, 2022

Oct 4, 2022 | Faculty, From the Dean

To: All Divisional Faculty
From: Dean Paul Koch
Subject: ISRP 2022

Dear Colleagues,

I’m writing to let you know about an opportunity that the Division of Global Engagement has developed, the International Summer Research Program (ISRP). They piloted the program in 2021 with BSOE, and expanded to include the science division in summer 2022, with one faculty in Chemistry & Biochemistry ultimately hosting a student intern from the University of Leeds (UK).

Global Engagement is eager to continue growing participation from the science division in summer 2023. See here for a list of additional schools from which applicants may be drawn. Expenses are paid by the student’s home campus and local arrangements made by Global Engagement.

If you are interested in hosting one or more international student interns on campus, in your lab in summer 2023 (June 26-August 18), please submit a project proposal here: https://forms.gle/syGApGU5wPX6T4Ao7

Projects will be circulated with students at partner schools after October 31, 2022 so please submit by then. (If you submit later, your project can still be circulated but you may miss some early applicants.)

You will be contacted with a list of applicants in mid-January 2023 and given the opportunity to select the students.

Let me know if you have any questions, or feel free to reach out directly to George Sabo, Director of Global Initiatives (gsabo@ucsc.edu).

All the best,
Paul Koch
