Overview

Impetus Grants invite applications for aging science. Grants will be awarded to support open-ended projects with a focus on high-risk, high-reward aging science. Impetus Grants is looking to enable the following types of research, among other things: proposals that stress-test popular theories of aging, proposals that stress-test popular protocols for extending the lifespan, category openers or proposals that test novel mechanisms and approaches to reversing aging, and translation of preclinical findings.

Award Amount & Terms

Grants of between $10,000 and $500,000 will be awarded.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include academic/nonprofit researchers, including trainees and students. Applicants should have access to appropriate facilities for the work proposed. Researchers from other fields are encouraged to propose projects where their expertise could address important questions about aging biology.

Timeline

  • Applications due: August 31, 2023
  • Decisions are typically made within three weeks of submission

The Office of Foundation Relations is a unit of University Relations.
