WORK TO BE PERFORMED:
Building-wide LED lighting upgrades, including light fixtures and switches in all spaces (including classrooms, offices, corridors, common areas, restrooms, and mechanical/equipment rooms).

*A detailed 3-week “look-ahead” schedule will be provided to building occupants with an overview of the planned work activities each week for all floors of the building. The first is included at the end of this email.
REASON:
LED Lighting upgrades are being done campus wide as part of UCSC’s Sustainability and Climate Action Plan & Energy Strategy, with the goal of reducing energy usage across campus and achieving progress with our carbon neutrality goals.
IMPACTS:
During the working hours of 6pm-4am Monday through Friday, lighting crews will be present throughout the building and proceeding floor-by-floor. Impacts will include foot traffic/crews, some construction and hand tool noise, open ceilings, dust, intermittent power interruptions to lighting fixtures, as well as brief localized restrictions to spaces—including offices, common rooms, corridors, stairwells, elevators & restrooms. For occupants planning on being in the building during these nighttime working hours, you may be asked to briefly vacate spaces, not enter certain areas where active construction activity is underway and use alternate restrooms, as needed.
There will be PPDO & Contractor containers on site for the duration of the project and vehicles parked around the ISB/EMS buildings and loading dock. See attached map.
