***Horns will NOT be sounded***
LOCATIONS:
Center for Adaptive Optics (passenger elevator), Interdisciplinary Sciences (passenger elevator), Coastal biology (two passenger elevators), and Westside Research Park (passenger and freight elevators) Buildings
UTILITY TO BE TESTED
Elevators will be temporarily shut down to test Fire Alarm recall functions.
**NEW** SCHEDULED DATES:
Tuesday, April 2 through Friday, April 19, 2024
SCHEDULED TIME:
7:30 AM to 3:30 PM daily
*Due to the nature of this campus wide testing, scheduling specific days & times is not possible. Occupants can expect elevators to be out of service for 30-90 minutes, depending on the findings and configuration of each. Please use alternate elevators in your building during the testing windows.
REASON:
Annual building code mandated State testing
DETAILS:
This testing will involve simulating a smoke detector trip which will then recall the elevator to its “Safe” location for passenger exit.
Fire Doors in buildings may close intermittently – elevators may be unavailable briefly throughout testing.
*Horns will not sound – if you hear an alarm, respond as you normally would to a regular fire alarm.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
