UC RGPO has announced that the MRPI call will be released in March. The categories and application process are expected to be similar to previous years. However, LOIs will require somewhat more detailed information. Now is the time to start thinking about your team.

Funding for projects that focus on different aspects of cancer control by modifying behavior, screening, and understanding etiologic factors contributing to the development of cancer, and developing ways to control cancer.
Small Grants for New Investigators to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research (R21) – June 16
Support for new investigators from diverse backgrounds, including from groups nationally underrepresented in biomedical, clinical, behavioral and social sciences research, to conduct small research projects in the scientific mission areas of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) or the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI).

CIVIC is a research and action competition that accelerates the transition to practice of foundational research and emerging technologies into communities through civic-engaged research. It includes two tracks: Track A, Living in a changing climate: pre-disaster action around adaptation, resilience, and mitigation and Track B, Bridging the gap between essential resources and services & community needs. Required Stage 1 Planning grants provide up to $50K over 6 months. Stage 2 awards provide up to $1M over 12 months. Q&A Sessions March 10 and 22.
NSF Strengthening American Infrastructure – May 5
Supports human-centered fundamental and potentially transformative research aimed at strengthening America’s infrastructure. Three proposal classes will be considered: planning grants provide up to $150K over 1 year; research grants provide up to $750K over 3 years; conference grants provide up to $50K over 1 year.
NSF Pathways to Enable Open-Source Ecosystems (PEOSE) – Phase I, May 12; Phase II, October 21
The goal of the PEOSE program is to fund new OSE managing organizations, each responsible for the creation and maintenance of infrastructure needed for efficient and secure operation of an OSE based around a specific open-source product or class of products. Phase I scoping awards provide up to $300K over one year. Phase II development awards are up to $1.5M over up to two years.
